Heaven knows the donuts by themselves aren’t worth a visit.

I see your sandwich and raise you one double down

I might have to try that for lunch after my breakfast donut/fake sausage thing.

Never has a good idea been so poorly executed as the Double Down.

The brownie batter filled valentine’s seasonal donut is pretty damn good.

I don’t think they make it anymore but at one time you could have finished your day with a pizza with cheeseburger s in the crust from Pizza Hut

Has to be better than that fake sausage turned out to be.
Of course I failed to take into account the fact that I don’t much like real sausage patties.
One bite was all I managed.

If you had asked me 10 years ago if the most mediocre donuts from my childhood would be undergoing a massive nationwide expansion, I’d call you crazy.
I finally had one last week for the first time in years, still bad. At least they have some semi- real food options now.

In the “foods made with donuts” category, I have direct experience of two clear winners:
Lulu’s Krispy Kreme bread pudding, OR if you’re in a DIY state of mind, just put a Krispy Kreme glazed into a waffle iron. You can still add syrup if you want, I’m not here to judge.

I’ll have to keep an eye open for that.

Does dunkin fry their donuts at each store, or are they fried at a secret location and then shipped to the franchises and baked again? Unless they’re fresh fried they’re on the same level as boxed grocery store donuts imo.

I was horrified the first time I saw a delivery truck for donuts at a DD in Boston, 20 years ago.
I assume not all locations are that sad, but I don’t know. Regardless, flavor and freshness almost always leave something to be desired. Indianapolis has some fantastic independent donut shop s, thankfully. DD hasn’t killed ours like they seemed to in the Boston area.

i think there are regional bakeries. my daughter’s toured a factory with girls scouts. I want to say it supplied like 20 stores with donuts.

Still, no good reason to go t DD, in my opinion. Also, I get that attaching Snoop to this is merely a marketing gimmick, but a sandwich within a doughnut bun is 1000% not a new or interesting thing.
